Glenna and Hannah met in high school at an oceanography camp. Due to their similar outlook on the world, as well as their desire to create and understand, they have remained friends for many years.
While they followed each other to college at Colgate University, and even majored in the same degree (geology), at some point the two friends had to part ways. Glenna went off to Europe to study soil geology while Hannah headed to Arizona to study planetary science.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Glenna and Hannah video-chatted every week, watching Miyazaki movies (though Glenna skipped ahead) and baking sourdough bread (that was mostly Hannah). They also delved more into their art in the downtime of being trapped inside, and decided to come together for The Twelve project.
